My Story
I love to hear people’s stories to see how pieces of their past fit together and lead to anticipation of the future. In coaching, we focus on your story and how you wish to write the upcoming chapters, which takes trust and transparency. That’s why I believe it’s only fair that you hear a bit of my story!
I grew up North Carolina where I still live with my family. I have been married to my husband, Joey, for almost 25 years, and we are parents to three amazing young men (ages 23, 21, and 16). Our faith and our family are the anchors to all that we do.
My personal journey to wellness and what exactly that means has been long and still continues. What I have come to accept is that we are always in and out of different seasons of our lives that require us to pivot. Leaning to give myself grace and adopting a mindset of flexibility and determination was necessary for me to care for myself so that I can be more present for others. This meant learning to better define and simplify what I believed about being healthy and committing to take action that moves me in that direction.
Spending five years as a police officer and nearly 18 years as a nurse in the Intensive Care Units of a Level One Trauma center all while starting and maintaining a family, left me feeling tired, overwhelmed and lost by all the demands and stresses. Life seemed too complicated and exhausting so I began taking my own health and wellness more seriously, I began exploring the wellness side of healthcare, and that is when I found the field of wellness coaching.
As I began down the path to professional coaching, God first had another unexpected path for me. He led me to ownership of two fitness facilities where I spent 7 years fostering relationships with women who were seeking a better level of health primarily through fitness and nutrition. I found the missing piece was not having a clear, personal vision that encompassed a holistic consideration of lifestyle. A vision strong enough to serve as an anchor for sustainable success. After selling my businesses, coaching started calling my name again, and here I am!
Committing to a lifestyle of wellness is a choice that can be challenging and maybe a little intimidating, but you are not alone. I look forward to partnering with you to discover more clarity and confidence in pursuing your personal healthy life. I believe you have the ability to reclaim your purpose and your peace!
My passion and drive is to be a positive light and resource for those seeking to improve or change their overall wellbeing.

I love spending time with family and friends, and I really enjoy a good cup of coffee. Being outside in nature is my happy place. I love taking long walks on the beach or hiking through the mountains – either works for me! My past times include exercise, paddleboarding, kayaking and even running. On the rainy days, I can be found curled up with a good book. I love acupuncture and learning about holistic approaches to health. I also deeply cherish the privilege of serving others through local and international missions.

My passion to serve others runs deeply. Personally, I have served as both a police officer and nurse. I am the wife of a now retired fire fighter and the mother of a police officer. I have a special place in my heart for those who serve and for their families. I have the unique honor of understanding the stresses from all the sides. I understand the crazy schedule and the daily unknowns that come with the job, and I know how difficult that can be as you navigate those waters. Whether you are the one with the job or you are the one supporting a loved one, I would welcome the privilege and opportunity to work with you.
